Introducing the World's Premier, Sustainable Arctic Charr Producer

Revolutionizing Arctic Charr Aquaculture

We were founded in 2020 when we saw the global demand for high quality, sustainable fish protein was continually rising, and we wanted to be part of the solution. We assembled a team of skilled scientists and specialists who have dedicated their lives to improving the aquaculture industry. After extensive industry research, we saw an opportunity to create a world-class business delivering high quality, sustainably sourced Sapphire Springs Arctic Charr.

We started with the science. We purchased the former site and all its genetic stock from a world leading Arctic Charr research facility (previously operated by the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Ocean). We followed that purchase in 2023 with the acquisition of Icy Waters Ltd., which is the global leader in Arctic Charr broodstock, selling ova to aquaculture facilities around the globe.

Our First Facility

Our first facility is located on a 140-acre site in the sub-Arctic climate of Manitoba, Canada, which possesses the perfect conditions for Sapphire Springs Arctic Charr to thrive, including being fed by a pristine, cool, ancient glacial aquifer. We are investing in the most innovative technology on the market that certifies safe and sustainable production, and our facility will feature world leading aquaculture production and processing practices.

We are on track to open our Manitoba facility in 2026 and begin producing 5,000 metric tonnes per year, which will increase the current global supply by about 50 per cent. With Arctic Charr in high demand for its taste, texture, and nutritional profile, we expect to begin work on future production facilities almost immediately.

Our Mission

To address the growing global demand for fish protein while setting new standards for responsible aquaculture.

Our Standards

As the leading Sapphire Springs Arctic Charr producer, we believe we have a responsibility to positively contribute to the aquaculture industry.

We are committed to:

  • Implementing sustainable practices that contribute to positive animal welfare in every step of the process, from ova collection to final packaging.
  • Upholding the highest quality standards and certifications to offer the highest quality product on the market.
  • Increasing global supply so more people have access to nutritious, delicious Arctic Charr.
  • Continually leading in new and innovative research to help advance the aquaculture industry.

Future Phases

We have already begun planning two additional aquaculture facilities to be located on the east and west coasts of Canada. These facilities will greatly expand our production capacity and also allow us to improve shipping times to both coasts of North America as well as to Europe and Asia.

We are very excited about the future. We started our company by hiring the best people and ensuring we had the best broodstock. We’re now building it with the best available aquaculture equipment and practices.
